Whiskey Ballindalloch Vintage Release 2016

Ballindalloch Vintage Release 2016 Whisky is the second annual release in the distillery's vintage series, matured for nine years in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 48% ABV without chill filtration, this single malt reflects the distillery's "Single Estate" approach, using barley grown entirely on the estate. On the nose, it releases intense notes of tropical fruit, ripe mandarin, and a delicate citrus freshness.

On the palate, the texture is rich and velvety, with distinct aromas of passion fruit, soft caramel, and blackcurrant. The finish is harmonious and persistent, characterized by a complexity reminiscent of fruity undergrowth. It's excellent at the end of a meal because its aromatic evolution, deeper than the previous release, offers a pleasant sugary finish that ideally complements the conclusion of a structured dinner.
