Brachetto grappa special cask finish Mazzetti d'Altavilla
Brachetto Grappa which continues refinement in barrels previously used for the aging of Sherry.
In 1587 the legendary navigator Francis Drake raided the Bay of Cadiz, sank the Spanish fleet there and escaped after loading 2,900 barrels of Sherry. It was considered the coup of that century.
Over four hundred years have passed and today Mazzetti d'Altavilla dedicates a fine Grappa to the then corsair of the Queen of England which finishes aging in barrels previously used for refining Sherry.
The selected spirit (2,900 bottles, like Francis Drake's barrels) is from Brachetto and has a special "Sherry Finish" which gives aromatic and fruity notes.
